Joy in Saying Yes

January 7, 2022 – Friday

This past summer, I said yes to gymnastics.  My spirit seemed to just know it was where we needed to be.    At the time, our 9:30 am class was overflowing with children on summer break.  My first day there I met Heidi.  We immediately connected and became fast friends.

In getting to know Heidi, she revealed that she plays the harp and is an instructor.  She also mentioned that her sister Gracia was in the horse world and worked at a barn near our house.

When my daughter was three, she told me she wanted to play the harp like King David (be still my beating heart).  I stored her dream in my heart and have pondered it ever since.  Since that time the dream has grown – mostly in my own heart.

When the Lord introduces you to a harp teacher who's sister works at a barn - it is hard to ignore it.   Needless to say... the Lord had my attention.

With the start of school, our gymnastics group dwindled down to the homeschoolers, and for a while it was just our family.  Heidi and I have since kept in touch.

Over the past six months the children's interest in gymnastics has waned.  They would rather be in the barn - riding.  Oh how I understand.  So would I! It is with horses that our hearts sing.   Though I was hesitant, I gave our 30 day notice at gymnastics and we are finishing up the month of January.

I filled the empty space with homeschool choir.  Perhaps I should have just left the space open.  There are so many wonderful options all around me.  I am trying hard to follow the Lord and His path.  Everything that sparkles does not demand my attention.  I am praying for wisdom.

Yet... before leaving gymnastics, God had one more thing in mind.  Yesterday, Ashley walked in with her daughter for their first class.  It was a cold January morning.  Her stocking cap was adorned with little bits of hay.  She obviously caught my attention.   As I introduced myself - she mentioned that she had just rushed over from the barn.  We chatted the hour away – mostly about horses.

Ashley told me that horses had always been a dream of hers.  It was this longing that led her to knock on a barn door and offer to muck stalls.  After almost two years of chores, she finally got to ride, and today owns a horse of her own.

I am so inspired by her pursuit of her dream. Perhaps there are times in life that we need to be willing to muck stalls to make our dreams a reality.

Wanna know the cool part?  Guess where she works?  With Gracia, Heidi's sister.  The barn by my house.

As we were talking, she said something I can’t shake.  She said “it’s time for you to get your horse”.  Though I just met her, her words had a familiar ring - my spirit heard my Shephard’s voice.  Sometimes God uses us - even when we don’t know He is doing it.  I am pretty sure Ashley had no clue of the significance of what she said, but her words were salve to my dry and weary soul.  They were words I have been waiting to hear for over twenty years.

As we parted ways that morning, we both knew we had a met a kindred spirit and that the Lord was indeed up to something.

As I recapped the story to my husband over dinner, he said… “maybe it is time we get a horse!”  For so long we have pondered the idea of owning our own horse.  My dream for horses has been deferred for so long.  Is this the season this desire of my heart will be fulfilled!?  God… I lay this at your feet and wait in excited anticipation to see what you will do.

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. (Prov 13:12, ESV)

ACTION: Where has your hope been deferred?  What have you been wishing and hoping for?  I hear the Lord saying to pull it back out again and press in.  Perhaps like Ashley, it will take action on our part.  Dreams do at times just fall in our lap, but other times we find ourselves mucking through the process.  Is there one step we could take today to get the wheels in motion?  Is there a stall that needs mucking?

Gifts to Give at Christmas

A Gift to Give... The King

compassion
world vision 2

World Vision or Compassion International

Each Christmas, my husband and I wrap up a box for our four children to share.  Inside, each child is given money and a gift catalog.  Together they get to flip through the catalog and decide on how to spend their money.  I love watching them snuggled on the couch together after all the gifts are opened, working together to determine how they want to give.  It has become a beloved tradition in our home... one we do year after year.

A Holy Spirit Led Scavenger Hunt

This is perhaps my favorite way to give...  It started back in 2014 when my children were just 2 and 3.  My dear friend Heidi and I had an abundance of like new toys in our homes and wanted to find a way to share them with those in need.  We decided on a Holy Spirit led scavenger hunt.

I asked the kids to gather up gifts they wanted to share with children in need.  Moments later my little boy returns with his favorite Jesse Bear in tow, and hands it over to me.  My heart longed to say NO!  You can't give away your favorite teddy bear!!  But I knew that was exactly the kind of gifts that Jesus was after.  Jesus doesn't want our leftovers... He wants our best!  After making sure that he was certain, I gently took the teddy bear from his tiny hands and helped him to tie a bow with tears streaming from my eyes.  My heart was aching, his heart was full of joy.  Perhaps this is why Jesus tells us to become like children in Matthew 18:3.  Their hearts are so pure... so giving... so trusting.  It is a moment in time that has forever changed me.

“I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless you repent [that is, change your inner self—your old way of thinking, live changed lives] and become like children [trusting, humble, and forgiving], you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matt 18:3, AMP)

We gathered up other gifts, wrapped them, and loaded them into our van.  We headed off to meet Heidi on the downtown streets of our little mountain town.  Together with our children we prayed and asked the Holy Spirit to lead us to the families who needed these gifts most.

Our first stop was an old run down hospital, turned apartment.  We looked for signs of children and saw a few toys scattered by a broken window.  We entered inside this run down building with kids in tow.  I was blessed to have Heidi with me who is far more courageous and fearless than me.  We knocked on the door and a beautiful woman answered with 5 small children peering out from around her skirt.  She only spoke Spanish.  So in broken Spanish I told her Merry Christmas and that Jesus loved her and led us to her that day to bring gifts for Christmas.  I asked if she would be willing to receive them and she said yes.  Behind her was a tiny Christmas tree.  It was December 23rd and there were no gifts under the tree.  We handed her close to fifteen wrapped gifts that day.  The children's eyes were the size of silver dollars as they watched these gifts fill the empty space under their tree.  I don't know what her story is... but I do know that Jesus provided gifts for her children that year.  He is so good!

You may be wondering about Jesse Bear... he was still in the van along with other gifts.  We had one more stop to make.  We drove down along the river into a trailer park.  We again looked for signs of children and knocked on a door.  A woman answered the door with a three year old boy in her arms and a gaggle of children behind her.   My little two year old handed his Jesse Bear to the small child in her arms and said Merry Christmas.  We blessed the other children with gifts as well.  With Christmas wishes we said our goodbye's and headed home, empty vans and full hearts.

As we returned home that night I talked to my little boy about how it felt to give Jesse Bear away.  He wasn't sad.  I told him about Matthew 25:40 where Jesus tells His friends the gifts we give to the least of these we give to Him.  When he handed his teddy bear to that little boy that day, it was as if He handed it to Jesus.  He smiled.  Somehow I think he already knew that.  It was me that was figuring it out.

And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of Mine, you did it for Me.’ (Matt 25:40, NASB)

That was the beginning of a 5 year tradition with our two families that only ended when we moved to the Midwest.  After the first year... our toy supply dwindled and we ended up purchasing new toys and gift cards.  Many times the Lord would provide the gifts.  For example... I ordered a boy Corolle baby doll for my son and Amazon sent a duplicate.  I called them and tried to send it back but they said to just keep it.  So... we had a beautiful boy baby doll to give that year.  The little girl that received it was so excited because her mama was pregnant and expecting a baby boy!

Yes! This takes courage, but mostly just reliance on the Holy Spirit!  Jesus is just waiting for us to follow Him... He knows where the needs are if we just ask.

Please be wise about this.  Do not put yourself or your children in harms way.  I recommend going midday.  After our first year, our husbands always accompanied us - but mostly just because they didn't want to miss out!   We never once felt unsafe.  Nervous yes!  But not unsafe.

Ask the Holy Spirit where the needs are in your community.  I assure you that God knows and is just waiting for someone to ask.  If you want to give gifts to the King at Christmas - give to the least of these!  After all, it is His birthday!!

Pack a Shoe Box

Operation Christmas Child, Samaritan's Purse

Pack a shoe box with your family and send it off on a journey around the globe.  Shoe boxes are given to children as part of a global outreach to teach and share the gospel, all while simply loving on God's children.

It is so much more than packing a box... it is a lesson in trusting God.   We don't know who will receive our box of goodies, but God does.  So as we shop, we pray and ask Him to guide our selections for the child, and trust we are picking out just the right things.  Before we send them off we pray for each child to feel God's tangible presence this Christmas and to know Him as a friend throughout their life.

Blessing Bags

Many years with a group of other homeschool children we have organized an assembly line of blessing bags.  Each participant brings multiples of one item and we fill blessing bags to give away to the homeless.  I love having something in the car to give when I see someone in need.

Homeless care package ideas from oddsandevans.com is a great resource

Other

In addition to the ideas listed above, there are so many local and international charities that you can sponsor or work with at Christmas to provide gifts to those in need.

I pray that the Holy Spirit lead and inspire you to be His hands and feet this Christmas and throughout the year.

A Gentle Whisper

IMG_1594

December 8, 2021 – Wednesday

As winter begins to settle in and the beauty of spring and summer have retired for the year, we enter into a holding pattern.  A season of rest.  A season of waiting.  A season of advent.  All God’s creation knows how to rest and to wait.  It is as if the scripture “rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him” has been woven into their very being.  Truth be told, it is woven into ours too.  We were created to rest and wait patiently on the Lord.  The world would benefit greatly from simple observation of creation all around us.  Perhaps that is why the Lord delights in watching His children embrace nature study.  The chipmunks, bees, flowers and trees all accept their design without question.  We were born to surrender to the plans of the Lord and trust Him with tomorrow.

Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him… (Ps 37:7, NKJV)

Rest and waiting is not passive – it’s cooperative.  We can learn much from simple observation of the bear.  She instinctively indulges in the ripe berries of fall, eating more than she has in prior months.  Plump and satisfied, she heeds the quiet whisper in the wind that encourages her to surrender to her urge to rest.  In spring, as if by formal invitation, she emerges from her winter den, cubs in tow, as she joins in the dance of the seasons.  Yes friends… the gentle whisper of the wind is worth listening to (1 Kings 19:12).

11 The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”  Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.  Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”  (1 Kings 19:11-13, NIV)

When the Lord speaks to us, it is rarely an audible or visible word, yet, like the bear we instinctively hear it.  Most often it is a simple urge.  A gentle whisper.  A silent invitation.  We know the voice of our shepherd (John 10:27).  It isn’t really a question of if we hear.  No… the question is are we listening?

As we embrace this holy season of advent, let us take notes from nature.  Let us rest and wait on the Lord through our surrendered cooperation.  The victory is in the surrender.  Isn’t it humbling to think that it all begins with quietness and trust (Isa 30:15)?  ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts (Zech 4:6).

The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me. (John 10:27, TPT)

In quietness and trust you will be made strong. (Isa 30:15, TPT)

‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts. (Zech 4:6, NKJV)

An Intentional Christmas

Jesus is the sweetness of life perfected.  He is the most beautifully wrapped gift ever given.  His light glows brighter than the most extravagant Christmas tree. He is Christmas!

December 1, 2021 – Wednesday

As December arrives, our family embraces the opportunity to celebrate with the world the priceless night, over 2000 years ago, when Love came down and rescued us.  Love gave up His throne for a manger and the perfection of heaven for the imperfection of this fallen world.  Yes, we celebrate His birth!  But even more significantly, we celebrate the reason why He came!  It’s the most amazing rescue story of all time.  Love came down to rescue us so that through Him we could have life and we could have it abundantly.

I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect - life in its fullness until you overflow!  John 10:10, TPT

Since my children were very small, I have prayed for wisdom on how to keep Christmas holy.  Christmas as the world knows it, is not biblical.  But, the story of Christmas is (Luke 2).  Unlike Passover and other biblical feasts, there are no guidelines in the Bible on how to celebrate this historic occasion.  Yet… the world cannot resist.  At the very heart of Christmas is the desire to celebrate the King!  It is what we were born to do.  We cannot contain ourselves.  Whether we realize it or not, we were made to worship Him.  It is woven into the very fabric of our being.

Oh come let us adore Him!
Christ the Lord!

We have the right message!  Worship!  His birth is indeed praise worthy.  It is our interpretation of that message we must seek wisdom on.   Christmas is as intentional as we make it.  The more we seek Him, the more we find Him (Jer 29:13)!  Worship without intention is simply tradition.  We can trim the tree, wrap the presents, and turn on the carols all without even thinking about Jesus if we are not careful.

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. (Jer 29:13, ESV)

As we acknowledge Jesus through worship, we not only honor Him, but defeat the powers of darkness in our life.  Worship is one of our most powerful weapons – that is why the enemy works so hard diminish its presence in the world.  The primary tool he uses - distraction.  Anyone ever feel a little distracted during December?   We get so busy and distracted that we often crowd out the space we purposed to make for the King!  Distraction and busyness arn't something reserved for December.  It is an everyday, all year thing.  It has become so familiar, we scarcely even recognize it.

Intentionality requires focus.  If we want to be intentional about Christmas – we need to focus on Jesus.  If we want to be intentional in life – we need to focus on Jesus.  Have you ever sang an entire worship song, your thoughts trailing with distraction?  We can even miss the worship in worship!  Ugh.  The battle is real y’all!

Do it ALL for His glory

Worship is a posture of the heart.  It can and should be a part of ALL we do!  Colossians 3:23 instructs us to “put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others”.  We should do it ALL for the glory of the Lord (1 Cor 10:31).  Jesus is in the details.  He is in the generosity and giving of a special gift, the soft glow of the lights, the love that goes into home baked treats, and the holiness of the most beloved carols.  The traditions of Christmas are indeed infused with the Spirit of Christmas – for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear.  He is gentle and humble (Matt 11:29) - we can miss Him if we aren’t careful.  His holiness demands our worship – yet He never will.  Because Jesus longs for relationship – He woos us without forcing us.

23 Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others. 24 For we know that we will receive a reward, an inheritance from the Lord, as we serve the Lord Yahweh, the Anointed.  (Col 3:23-24, TPT)

So then, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of [our great] God. (1 Cor 10:31, AMP)

But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear. (Matt 13:16, NASB)

Simply join your life with mine.  Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me.  (Matt 11:29, TPT)

Rest assured… there is no place Jesus won’t meet us!!  Whatever the Christmas traditions of your family – I can assure you that Jesus is there.  You just need to look for Him.  Yes… I know there are pagan roots and materialism woven into many of our beloved traditions.  So let’s redeem them!  The enemy loses his grip on anything that is saturated with the goodness of God.  As we intentionally seek Him in all we do, we will find Him.

The traditions we choose to embrace with our family should be used to glorify the Lord.  Some are holy.  Some are fun.  Some are yummy.  Some have been passed down through many generations.  It isn’t the traditions that make Christmas holy, it is the presence of God.  Love, peace, hope and joy… that’s what Christmas is all about Charlie Brown.  Our traditions should honor our Savior - be full of love, bring peace, restore hope and overflow with joy!  If they do… we are on the right track.

Frosty or a manger on the front lawn?  Santa or no Santa?  Elf or no elf?  Decorations before or after the first of December?  White or multicolored lights?  Gingerbread or sugar cookies?  Eggnog or hot cocoa?  Gifts to the needy or visit a nursing home?  Stay home or travel?  The decisions are endless… So is His presence.

Folks – I have a news flash for you. It isn’t really about how we adorn Christmas.  It is whether or not we adore Christmas!  It isn’t the red and green He is after… it is our hearts.  So do what you love and do it ALL for the glory of God.  Chances are that your traditions reflect the beautiful qualities that make you… you!  That is why your traditions are your traditions.  Look a little closer and trust me… you will find Him there.  Then do it ALL for His glory.

The world adorns Christmas with glowing lights, beautiful gift wrap, and sugary sweets.  Pretty fitting if you ask you me.   Jesus is the sweetness of life perfected.  He is the most beautifully wrapped gift ever given.  His light glows brighter than the most extravagant Christmas tree.  The traditions of Christmas may at first glance appear to be of the world, but with unveiled eyes we see the beauty of our King.  Much like a mirror, as we see Him in the details, we will start to reflect Him to the world.

The traditions of Christmas reflect the heart of our King, and are inspired by our design to worship Him!  Worship is at the very heart of Christmas.  As we adorn Christmas, let us also adore Christmas.  Travel with me down the road less traveled this Christmas.   There is a star shining bright in the sky that will light our path.

“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.” (Matt 2:2, NASB)

Finding Jesus in the Details...

If you choose to hang lights… do it with joy. Do it with intentionality.  Do it for the glory of God.  Declare that your home is a city on hill, a lamp upon a stand, shining bright for all to see His goodness in our land.

14 “Your lives light up the world. For how can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop?  15 And who would light a lamp and then hide it in an obscure place?  Instead, it’s placed where everyone in the house can benefit from its light. 16 So don’t hide your light!   Let it shine brightly before others, so that your commendable works will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.”

IMG_6448

Do you have the opportunity to host, or are you invited to a Christmas gathering?  The opportunities to glorify the Lord during the holidays are endless…  I recently went to a homeschool gathering and the mom who hosted put put her heart and soul into the event.  She made our children feel treasured, inspired the moms with her generosity, and loved on each of us through her time and thoughtfulness.  She created the most beautiful cocoa bar and Christmas snackuterie board with the contributions of each family.  I was amazed at the beauty of community and sharing, sprinkled with love!

So go ahead. Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this! (Ecc 9:7, NLT)

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. (1 Cor 10:31, NKJV)

I come from a long line of decorators and lovers of Christmas.  You can read more about that in The Power of Christmas.  Decorating brings joy and spreads joy.  When you walk into a beautifully decorated home at Christmas, it is as if you are embraced by the smells, the sights and the sounds of Christmas.  It is so grand!  You know you are home and that you are loved - all without a word.  This beautiful tree is in my cousins house in Texas.  It speaks to the gifts God has given her.  She is a beautiful decorator, person, and lover of Jesus.  This is just an example of what it can look like when we put our heart and soul into what we love (Col 3:23).    All we have to do is use the gifts He has given us.

23 Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others. (Col 3:23, TPT)

I also like to decorate... but my gift is more with food.  I find such joy in feeding people.  I have slowly figured that out over the years.  It all started in college when I would host cinnamon roll breakfasts at 7am at my house.  Since then my passion has only grown.  It is who God made me to be.  God's gifts come naturally and bring joy!  We bless others with our gifts!!

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!(Ps 34:8, NKJV)

Christmas is a time to give and love on others.  There are so many opportunities to share what we have during the holiday season.  In Matthew 25:40 Jesus tells us that when we give to the least of these we give to Him.  Do you want to know how to give gifts to Jesus this Christmas season?  Give to the least of these by reaching out to those in need.  Our family has a tradition each Christmas that we pray promotes generosity in our children.  We wrap up $25 for each of our four children and enclose a World Vision catalog.  We let them flip through the pages and decide as a group what they would like to spend their money on.  It has been so refreshing watching them embrace this opportunity year after year.

For more ideas on ways to give - hop on over to Gifts to Give at Christmas.

“And the King will answer them, ‘Don’t you know? When you cared for one of the least of these, my little ones, my true brothers and sisters, you demonstrated love for me.’ (Matt 25:40, TPT)

But when you demonstrate generosity, do it with pure motives and without drawing attention to yourself. 4 Give secretly and your Father, who sees all you do, will reward you openly.” (Matt 6:3-4, TPT)

If you haven't already... incorporate an advent tradition into your home.  Advent helps to keep our focus to Jesus.  We love the Cradle to Cross Wreath to accompany our advent study.  Each morning we light a candle and begin with our devotion.   We have used numerous advent studies over the years...  this year we used the new devotional that comes with the wreath on the names of Jesus.

An Advent Celebration (Coming Soon)

This is just the tip of the ice burg…  God will reveal Himself to you as you seek Him;  He will use your tradtions, unique gifts, interests and talents to love on the world this Christmas!

Abundance is Here!

“The secret to having it all is believing you already do.”  ~ Unknown

November 19, 2021

I hear the Lord saying that we have entered into a time of abundance.  What you have hoped for, prayed for, and waited for is arising like the sun with healing on its wings (Mal 4:4).  You have travailed uphill.  The rugged terrain will become level ground and the rough places a plain (Isa 40:4).  You have now entered a place of green pastures and still waters, of restoration and overflow.  A Psalm 23 season is upon you.   Your cup runneth over. Abundance is here and he is Jesus (John 10:10)!

Abundance: Great plenty; an overflowing quantity; ample sufficiency (Websters, 1828)

The sun of righteousness will dawn on those who honor my name, healing radiating from its wings. You will be bursting with energy, like colts frisky and frolicking. And you’ll tromp on the wicked. They’ll be nothing but ashes under your feet on that Day.” God-of-the-Angel-Armies says so. (Mal 4:4, MSG)

The rugged terrain will become level ground and the rough places a plain. (Isa 40:4, TPT)

A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect—life in its fullness until you overflow! (John 10:10, TPT)

Your birthright, the unlimited riches of Jesus’ victory on the cross, is being unveiled within you (Eph 3:16).  The God of angel armies is revealing the power of Jesus’ love for you – the very essence of your victory.  A love that has been there from the start, a love that has been fighting for you since before you took your first breath, a love that laid down His life so yours would overflow.  Love is the root of the tree He has planted within you.  What started off as a tiny seedling, has been watered, cared for, pruned, and doted on.  It is now ready to yield the fruit it was designed for.  The spring blossoms were abundant.  The branches are now heavy with the weight of harvest.  You can feel it.  It is more than you can hold on your own.  Your strength is not enough.  His strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Cor 12:8).  His strength is more than enough!!

And I pray that he would unveil within you the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with his divine might and explosive power. (Eph 3:16, TPT)

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Cor 12:8, NKJV)

Alone you cannot manage the overflow. The abundance will require surrender of your agenda and to-do lists.  The overflow will not fit into the gaps of your already busy life.  You will need more space than you know.  The abundance will require you to stand with your arms wide open – ready to receive.  Lay down your agenda and follow the Lord.

He who loves abundance will not be satisfied with its gain (Ecc 5:10).  The harvest is for the humble and contrite in spirit.  Thus saith the Lord, “There is one my eyes are drawn to: the humble one, the tender one, the trembling one who lives in awe of all I say (Isa 66:2).”  You know who you are.  Yes you!  Don’t disqualify yourself, simply prepare.  Make way for the Lord.  “A thunderous voice cries out in the wilderness: “Prepare the way for Yahweh’s arrival!  Make a highway straight through the desert for our God (Isa 40:3)!”

He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves abundance with its gain. This too is vanity. (Ecc 5:10, AMP)

“But there is one my eyes are drawn to: the humble one, the tender one, the trembling one
who lives in awe of all I say. (Isa 66:2, TPT)

“A thunderous voice cries out in the wilderness: “Prepare the way[b] for Yahweh’s arrival!
Make a highway straight through the desert for our God! (Isa 40:3, TPT)

The love of Jesus is abundant!  His love at work within you will achieve more than you could ever ask or imagine (Eph 3:20).  Prepare to stand in awe.  The King of Glory is here!  The sound of His roar is mighty in pulling down strongholds (2 Cor 10:4).  The sound of His roar changes everything.  Open wide you living gates – the King of Glory is entering through you (Ps 24:7)!! Yes you!!

Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! (Eph 3:20, TPT)

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, (2 Cor 10:4, NKJV)

7 So wake up, you living gateways!  Lift up your heads, you doorways of eternity!  Welcome the King of Glory, for he is about to come through you.  8 You ask, “Who is this King of Glory?”  Yahweh, armed and ready for battle, Yahweh, invincible in every way!  9 So wake up, you living gateways, and rejoice!  Fling wide, you eternal doors!  Here he comes; the King of Glory is ready to come in. (Ps 24:7-9)

A Harvest of Hope

A Harvest of Hope

This Pentecost Marks the Beginning of a Harvest of Hope

This message is for you if:

  • If you have been hoping and praying for a specific breakthrough for years.
  • If you feel like you are walking in circles, and have ended up right back where you started.
  • If you have grown weary in waiting for God to answer your prayers and have lost the hope you once had.
  • If you feel you are in a transition and you are uncertain of where you are headed.
  • If you believe there is a greater calling on your life and are seeking direction on how to get there.

The Lord has put it on my heart that we have entered into a very significant time in history.  He is doing something different – do you not perceive it?  We are entering into the season of Song of Songs 2:11-13.  Can you not discern this new day of destiny breaking forth around you? The early signs of my purposes and plans are bursting forth.  The budding vines of new life are now blooming everywhere. The fragrance of their flowers whispers, “There is change in the air” (Song 2:13).

11 The season has changed,
the bondage of your barren winter has ended,
and the season of hiding is over and gone.
The rains have soaked the earth
12 and left it bright with blossoming flowers.
The season for singing and pruning the vines has arrived.
I hear the cooing of doves in our land,
filling the air with songs to awaken you
and guide you forth.
13 Can you not discern this new day of destiny
breaking forth around you?
The early signs of my purposes and plans
are bursting forth.
The budding vines of new life
are now blooming everywhere.
The fragrance of their flowers whispers,
“There is change in the air.”
Arise, my love, my beautiful companion,
and run with me to the higher place.
For now is the time to arise and come away with me.

WE ARE COMING FULL CIRCLE

The Lord has been speaking to me for many years regarding the topic of coming full circle.  It is a word I have treasured and pondered in my heart.  Recently I felt the Lord revisit this word.  Like a familiar book on a shelf, He picked it up, blew the dust from the cover and placed it in my hands again.  As He did I felt the whisper of His heart – “blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord (Luke 1:45).

Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.” (Luke 1:45, NKJV)

When the Lord speaks a word, it is always full of hope, promise and fulfillment.  While coming full circle may at first glance look like simply coming back to where we started, it is far greater than that.   The path around a circle has a starting point and an ending point that are one in the same.  Yes, it may appear to be the same circle, but despite its familiarity, each journey is unique and unknown.  With each new circular journey of life, the assimilation of the knowledge obtained from the prior journey flows into the new territory and impacts its surroundings.  As we process and digest one season, we grow in our ability to enter into the new season. We can only enter into a season we have been prepared for.  Skipping ahead, though we may try, would prove to be futile. Your return to the start is never void of having accomplished God’s purposes and plans for your life (Jer 29:11). Rest assured knowing that each journey is designed by an ingenious Creator who knows what He is doing, and who is in charge.   We are entering into a season of reaping the bountiful harvest of hope that has been planted.

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jer 29:11, NIV)

CIRCLES IN NATURE

God is circular by nature, having no beginning and no end.  He is infinite, eternal, complete and whole.  Creation, much like its Creator, is also circular in nature, and is a complex rotational design that revolves off a center axis which is God Himself.  There are endless circles found in nature, all of which are evidence of a brilliant Creator at the center.

“God is a circle whose center is everywhere and circumference nowhere.”  ~ Unknown

The Universe revolves in circles, it is one of God’s many unfathomable and magnificent designs.  The earth spins on its axis each and every 24 hour day, while simultaneously making a 365 day journey around the sun.  The moon is also spinning on its axis, while circling around the earth every 27 days.  Meanwhile, each planet has its own rotation around the sun.  The universe is alive and whirling much like ballerinas on a stage dancing pirouettes to the most profound orchestration every written.

Some circles are grand like the universe, others are small like the butterfly; each is significant and designed with great intention.  We are all familiar with the captivating dance of a butterfly who through a series of metamorphic events transforms from a caterpillar.  From seed or egg, life begins, grows, and transforms, only to begin again and again.   ‘Great and small are on endless round known as the circle of life,’ a stunning design by a miraculous God.  This phenomenon is so eloquently captured by the song Circle of Life in the Lion King.

From the day we arrive on this planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There’s more to see,
than can ever be seen,
more to do,
than can ever be done
Hmm, there’s far too
much, to take in here
More to find,
than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small,
on the endless round
It’s the circle of life!

And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle
The circle of life

The very existence of the circle of life depends on yet another circle in nature, the complex system of the water cycle.  Rain or snow fall from the sky and nourish the land, only to evaporate back into the air to be released again.  Yes, the water returned to where it started, but everything is different because of its journey!  A beautiful analogy between the water cycle and God’s word can be found in Isaiah 55:10-11 where we are encouraged that the words of God, like the snow and rain that fall from heaven, will only return once they have accomplish their purposes and plans.

10 “As the snow and rain that fall from heaven
do not return until they have accomplished their purpose,
soaking the earth and causing it to sprout with new life,
providing seed to sow and bread to eat.
11 So also will be the word that I speak;
it does not return to me unfulfilled.
My word performs my purpose
and fulfills the mission I sent it out to accomplish.”
(Isa 55:10-11, TPT)

The balance of our eco system here on earth is dependent upon so many other complex cycles found in nature including carbon, phosphorus and nitrogen.  “For decades, farmers have believed using chemical fertilizers increases their output of plants. Like a line, they believe one always leads to the other, failing to consider impacts on the rest of the ecosystem. The eventual result is a breakdown of natural cycles on their farms.” (1)

When we begin to think of life in terms of circles rather than linear destinations, we begin to see the bigger picture of our design.  Coming full circle is the design of our planet.  Cycle after cycle, the prior impacts the later, either positively or negatively.  If you need a clear example, just look at the dustbowl where the earth joined in chorus pleading with its inhabitants to restore balance.  It tried to get our attention before it was too late – to no avail.  As we changed the natural cycles through farming practices we changed everything – most of which we have yet to recover from.  The health of our bodies and the health of our environment depend on it.

When we are responsible with the resources we are given and steward them well, the resultant outcome is renewal and refreshment.   When God created the earth, He created it to be a self-sustaining cycle of regeneration, with each generation empowered with the ability to sustain and even change future cycles.  That can be encouraging or discouraging depending on how you look at it, and how well you understand your role here on earth.  You alone can make a difference.  You alone can restore balance to the circle of life.  God is counting on us to know our identity as sons and daughters of the King and to use the authority that has been given to us through His son Jesus.  We can change cycles in our families, in our communities, in our country and on our planet!  We are not victims of our circumstances.  It is time to step up and do something.  God is raising up a generation of pioneers to step out of their comfort zone and to step into what He is doing on the earth!

CIRCLES IN THE BIBLE

There are multiple stories in the Bible that help us to better understand the circular patterns of our God and to obtain a clearer picture of what it means to come full circle victoriously.  One of the best examples is the 40 year journey the Israelites took from Egypt to the Promised Land.  After the Israelites exodus from Egypt (Exod 12), Moses was leading them to the Promised Land.  As they came to the gates on lap one, God was prepared to send them in with victory (see Num 13-14).  He had already paved the way, their job was to trust and obey.  Easier said than done, especially since their focus was on the giants in the land rather than their great and mighty God.   God was ready, they weren’t.  It is important to remember that we too will always magnify what we focus on.  Is your focus on the giants in the land or your great and mighty God?

The resultant outcome of their lack of focus on God was a 40 year period of walking in circles in the wilderness.  At last, the 40 year wait is over and God’s people are brought full circle, back where they had started, the same promise staring them in the face.  God’s promises are reliable.  The promise hadn’t changed.  God hadn’t changed (Heb 13:8).  The people and the season had changed.  The 40 year journey had equipped them, and this time their focus was on their mighty God. The Israelites could have entered the Promised Land on lap one… but instead they entered on lap 40 (Josh 1).  God always knew they would enter on lap 40.  They didn’t mess up His plans.  The 40th lap was always the victory lap.  My spirit is burning with the message right now that we are entering the victory lap for the promises we have been contending for.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Heb 13:8, NKJV)

Another familiar circular journey in the Bible is the story of Jericho.  Here we have the same people who just said yes to God’s invitation to enter their Promised Land.  As they begin their journey they encounter battle after battle with the giants in the land.  Their fierce focus on God results in victory after victory, and the battle at Jericho is no exception.  Jericho is highlighted in the bible in Joshua 6 as a fortified city with high walls in the land of Canaan.   In order to conquer Jericho, the Israelites were given specific instructions by God.  They were instructed to circle Jericho day after day for seven days and the walls would fall.  As they did as God instructed, they effortlessly took over the land of Jericho.  No matter how futile walking in circles may feel – circular paths are victorious!

2-5 God spoke to Joshua, “Look sharp now. I’ve already given Jericho to you, along with its king and its elite forces. Here’s what you are to do: March around the city, all your soldiers. Circle the city once. Repeat this for six days. Have seven priests carry seven ram’s horn trumpets in front of the Chest. On the seventh day march around the city seven times, the priests blowing away on the trumpets. And then, a long blast on the ram’s horn—when you hear that, all the people are to shout at the top of their lungs. The city wall will collapse at once. All the people are to enter, every man straight on in.”… 20 The priests blew the trumpets. When the people heard the blast of the trumpets, they gave a thunderclap shout. The wall fell at once. The people rushed straight into the city and took it.  (Josh 6:2-5, 20, MSG)

RUNNERS… TAKE YOUR MARK

The promises of God are before us today.  What was once impossible is now becoming possible.  We are on the victory lap.  Whatever the race you have been running, whether you are on lap 1 or lap 40, run victoriously (1 Cor 9:24-25), with perseverance and your eyes fixed on Jesus (Heb 12:1-2).

24 Isn’t it obvious that all runners on the racetrack keep on running to win, but only one receives the victor’s prize? Yet each one of you must run the race to be victorious. 25 A true athlete will be disciplined in every respect, practicing constant self-control in order to win a laurel wreath that quickly withers. But we run our race to win a victor’s crown that will last forever. (1 Cor 9:24-25, TPT)

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. (Heb 12:1-2, NIV)

In order to run a victorious race without giving up, it is imperative that we know what it is we are running for.  We must have a vision.  Ponder what the Lord has promised you and write it down (Hab 2:2).  Without a clear vision, we quickly wander astray (Prov 29:18).   Yes, it is easy to lose hope when we fail to see our dreams fulfilled.  “But when at last your dream comes true, life’s sweetness will satisfy your soul” (Prov 13:12).  We must not lose hope! “It may seem slow in coming, wait.  It is on its way.  It will come right on time” (Hab 2:3).

“Write down the vision and inscribe it clearly on tablets, so that one who reads it may run.  For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hurries toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it delays, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay long. (Hab 2:2-3, NASB)

And then God answered: “Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness pointing to what’s coming. It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait!  And it doesn’t lie.  If it seems slow in coming, wait.  It’s on its way. It will come right on time.  (Hab 2:2-3, MSG)

When there is no clear prophetic vision, people quickly wander astray.  But when you follow the revelation of the Word, heaven’s bliss fills your soul. (Prov 29:18, TPT)

When hope’s dream seems to drag on and on, the delay can be depressing.  But when at last your dream comes true, life’s sweetness will satisfy your soul.   (Prov 13:12 TPT)

God’s timing isn’t our timing.  We often think we should have been there by now, and lose hope.  We are like small children in the back seat on a long (or short) road trip asking for the 100th time “are we there yet?”   When the journey takes longer than we expected we lose hope and often even resign ourselves to the belief that we are never going to get there.  The good news is that we are going to get there, but we mustn’t give up (Gal 6:9)!  I feel the Lord whispering to my heart that the Harvest of Hope is here!  The harvest of the seeds of hope we have planted is here!!

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. (Gal 6:9, ESV)

And don’t allow yourselves to be weary in planting good seeds, for the season of reaping the wonderful harvest you’ve planted is coming! (Gal 6:9, TPT)

MAIN CHARACTERS: IT IS TIME TO ADVANCE

We must move forward, uninhibited by fear with our eyes on Jesus.  As Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, “So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is…fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.”  Fear will always stand at the gate of a promise, imploring us to step away.  Fear will attempt to divert you.  Fear is “unreasoning, unjustified terror” that stops us in our tracts.

“So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is…fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.” ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt

As we enter into May this year and approach Pentecost, God is calling us to convert retreat into advance.  What has been static is now becoming dynamic!  The season has changed and we are now prepared to be active participants is receiving what the Lord has promised us.

There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven— (Ecc 3:1, AMP)

There is a reason you are the main character in your story.  Your dynamic story is unfolding and it is victorious.  Why? Because you have a Savior who bled and died for you.

In a story, a static character remains the same while a dynamic character undergoes significant internal change (2).  Many of us have been in a season of growth, pruning and refining.  Let us rejoice!  For “we know that our suffering gives us the strength to go on. The strength to go on produces character. Character produces hope” (Rom 5:3-4).  When silver or gold are refined, they are heated to very high temperatures which cause the dross or impurities rise to the top so they can be removed (Prov 25:4).  The result is a beautiful and pure vessel.   God has been molding you into the most extravagant vessel.  Why? So He could bring you full circle to enter into your land of promise.  Your dynamic story will have God’s fingerprints all over it.   When the world see’s your victory, they will see Jesus.  There will be no explanation… but God (Zech 4:6)!

And that’s not all. We are full of joy even when we suffer. We know that our suffering gives us the strength to go on. The strength to go on produces character. Character produces hope. And hope will never bring us shame. That’s because God’s love has been poured into our hearts. This happened through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. (Rom 5:3-5, NIRV)

Take away the dross from the silver, and there comes out [the pure metal for] a vessel for the silversmith [to shape].  (Prov 25:4, NIRV)

Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of armies. (Zech 4:6, NASB)

You are the protagonist, or leading character, in your story.  A protagonist is an active participant in an event (3).    They tend to be dynamic characters (like Ebenezer Scrooge), while the antagonists tend to be static characters (like Captain Hook)” (2).  Think total transformation versus refusal to change.  Ebenezer Scrooge became a hero because he was willing to change.  Captain Hook on the other hand refused to change and wound up in the belly of a crocodile.  This is your chance to become the hero of your story.    The Joshua’s and Caleb’s, the pioneers of the new land, are arising now.

CONCLUSION

Join me in advancing into the leading role of your story and running a victorious race. What we have been prepared for is now before us.   It may be something for which you have prayed and prayed, and maybe even given up on.  Do not give up friend!  Do not shift your focus to the giants in the land.  What you have dreamed about is right before you.  The gate is open.  It is time to enter.  Pentecost this year (May 16-18) marks a changing point as God is releasing a fresh anointing of His Spirit on His people to accomplish His purposes and plans on the earth.   Pentecost marks the beginning of this new circular journey into unchartered territory.  What God has been preparing you for is before you now!  What was impossible is now becoming possible (Matt 19:26).

Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. (John 16:7, ESV)

12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. (John 14:12-14, NIV)

But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matt 19:26, ESV)

No matter the length of the circle you have been journeying, they all orbit effortlessly, by the power of a great and mighty God.  The purpose of the journey is the beauty and impact we leave along the way and the new growth that comes as a result.  Take courage and be of good cheer.  Your harvest of hope is before you.  With a fierce focus on the Lord and a clear vision, you can prepare to enter your promised land.

STEPS TO FLOURISH IN YOUR STORY:

Prepare to celebrate Pentecost with your family. Click HERE for your families guide to Pentecost. (I will have this posted within a couple of days, so check back.)

DAY 1:

  • Study the words of Habakkuk 2:2-3 in both the Message translation and the NASB. Ask Holy Spirit to give you clarity on what the vision is and write it down.  Pray over your vision and ask the Lord to bless it and breathe new life over it.
    • “Write down the vision and inscribe itclearly on tablets, so that one who reads it may run.  For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hurries toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it delays, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay long. (Hab 2:2-3, NASB)
    • And then Godanswered: “Write this.

DAY 2:

  • Read the scriptures from Job 22:26-30 in the Amplified and Message translation. Look over the promises you wrote down and decree that they will be established for you.
    • 26 Then you will have delight in the Almighty, and you will lift up your face to God. 27 “You will pray to Him, and He will hear you, and you will pay your vows. 28 “You will also decide anddecree a thing, and it will be established for you; and the light [of God’s favor] will shine upon your ways. 29 “When you are cast down and humbled, you will speak with confidence, and the humble person He will lift up and 30 “He will even rescue the one [for whom you intercede] who is not innocent; and he will be rescued through the cleanness of your hands.” (Job 22:28, AMP)
    • “You’ll take delight in God, the Mighty One, and look to him joyfully, boldly.
You’ll pray to him and he’ll listen; he’ll help you do what you’ve promised.
You’ll decide what you want and it will happen; your life will be bathed in light.
To those who feel low you’ll say, ‘Chin up! Be brave!’ and God will save them.
Yes, even the guilty will escape, escape through God’s grace in your life.” (Job 28:26-30, MSG)

DAY 3:

  • Study the following scriptures and memorize the one that speaks most to your heart. Place it in a prominent place in your home so you will be reminded of it daily.
    • When there is no clear prophetic vision, people quickly wander astray. But when you follow the revelation of the Word, heaven’s bliss fills your soul. (Prov 29:18, TPT)
    • When hope’s dream seems to drag on and on, the delay can be depressing. But when at last your dream comes true, life’s sweetness will satisfy your soul.   (Prov 13:12 TPT)
    • And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. (Gal 6:9, ESV)
    • And don’t allow yourselves to be weary in planting good seeds, for the season of reaping the wonderful harvest you’ve planted is coming! (Gal 6:9, TPT)
    • Blessed isshe (he) who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her (him) from the Lord.” (Luke 1:45, NKJV)

DAY 4:

  • Review the quote on converting retreat to advance by Franklin D. Roosevelt.
    • “So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is…fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.” ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt.
  • Ask Holy Spirit to help you identify any fears or lies that may be diverting your focus from God to the giants in the land. You can use the following list as a guide.  Write them down.
    • We are believing the lies of the enemy rather than the promises of God.
    • We are focused on the giants of the land rather than our great and mighty God.
    • We are looking at the impossibilities, rather than at God with whom all things are possible.
    • We have equipped ourselves with weapons of the world, rather than relying on God to equip us.
    • We are holding on to things we need to release, in order to receive what God is trying to give us. Our hands our too full!
    • Faith, hope and trust have been displaced by fear, doubt and what if’s.
  • Now ask Holy Spirit to help you replace the lies with truth and life. Boldly declare the truth over your circumstances (see scriptures from Day 2).
  • Formulate a prayer utilizing the truths revealed to you by the Holy Spirit to encourage you in advancing toward the promises.

From Talking Politics to Praying Providence

Wow! Wow! Wow!  I just love when God confirms a word He spoke to me, and today He did just that.  As I opened my Bible Study (the Daniel Study by Beth Moore) and turned to week 2, day 4, my jaw hit the floor.  In big bold letters all over the page are definitions of the word “PROVIDENCE”.   If you missed this week’s posts, you may be wondering what I am so excited about.  Allow me to refresh your memory…

Posts from www.amothersmusings.net

January 12, 2011:  As I sat with Lord this morning, I felt His heart to pray for the “Divine hour upon which we are entering”. We are entering into a critical time in history, a time where the Sovereign Providence of the Lord will manifest. Our free will is being over-ridden by God’s Sovereignty and His providence.  Providence as defined by Merriam-Webster is “His divine guidance or care over us”. The Lion of Judah is stepping in, and His roar will be heard throughout the nations. I feel this word is extremely timely as we prepare for the upcoming transfer of power in the United States. I hear Him saying to pray over these next days for His Sovereign Providence over the United States of America. May His Kingdom come, His will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. We must put our political agendas aside and put God’s agenda at the forefront. We do that through prayer for our Nation. It is a critical hour to be in prayer, this DIVINE HOUR UPON WHICH WE ARE ENTERING.  Thank you God for your Sovereign Providence over the United States of America. Thank you for your Fatherly love for our country. Thank you that we are the United States of America – one Nation Under God! May your Kingdom come and Your will be done! Yes and Amen!!

January 13, 2021:  “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.” Dan 2:20-22. Our God has never once failed to be at the center of raising up kings and removing kings. He is at the center today just as much as He was with Nebuchadnezzar in Daniels time. It was through His faithful prayer warriors that He moved then, and it is through His faithful prayer warriors that He will move today. Fear not the lion’s den or the fiery trials in life. Stand firm in your faith, not in what is popular or accepted. Be a Daniel in a sea of Babylonians. God is with us and He will make Himself known!

Beth Moore, Daniel 2006

Providence is not a word I regularly use. Perhaps at one point in history it was common, but today… it just isn’t.  So when a word such as “providence” starts turning up around every corner, I start to pay attention.  God started speaking to me about providence around a year ago.  Since that time, it has gotten LOUDER, AND LOUDER, AND LOUDER.  Yes God… I am listening.

A couple days ago, I wrote about His Sovereign providence and went as far as to define it.  Today in my study with Beth Moore, she further defines it for us. Listen to what she has to say…

“God’s sovereignty means that He has supremacy over all things and does whatever He desires with whomever or whatever He pleases. The providence of God is similar in concept. Harper’s Bible Dictionary explains, ‘This God has a plan and purpose for his world. Providence is not a principle of orderliness or reason; rather, providence is the will of the Creator who is actively involved in moving his creation to a goal. History is not a cyclical process of endless repetition; history is being moved toward the predetermined end.”   (Beth Moore, Daniel)

Let’s again look at the scripture from Daniel 2:20-22.

“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.” (Dan 2:20-22)

I am blown away that today, January 14, 2021… Beth Moore is teaching me through a study she published in 2006, about a book written in around 600 BC, something SO relevant for this season we are in TODAY!  Come on folks!  Can I give a shout out to the Lord!

Today’s lesson with Beth gets better, stick with me… we are specifically looking at Daniel 2:21 “He removes kings and raises up kings”.  This scripture is for today y’all!  It is for right now in history as much as it was in 600 BC.   As Beth Moore mentions in her study today “God’s Word is eternal. Unaffected by time. Scripture was inspired to be as fresh each passing day at it was the first.”  God is breathing life all over this ancient verse.

To sum up Daniel 2:20-22… God’s got this.  Our God is wise and mighty.  It is He who changes the times and season.  It is He who removes kings and raises up kings. It is He who gives wisdom to the wise.   It is He who knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.

We have entered into a Divine hour of Sovereign providence.  The season has changed.  Our wise and mighty God is with us and for us.  He still gives wisdom to the wise (Dan 2:21).  Ask and it shall be given you.  Seek and ye shall find.  Knock and the door will be opened (Matt 7:7).  Allow Him to guide your prayers.  Pray for our world, our nation, your state, your city, your county, your street, your home…  Pray for wisdom on how to pray, how to respond, how to act.  God gives (wisdom) generously to those who ask (James 1:5).   Today… God is raising up Daniel’s in a sea of Babylonians.

He gives wisdom to the wise and [greater] knowledge to those who have understanding! (Dan 2:21, AMP)

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matt 7:7, NIV)

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:5, NIV)

Daniel 2 is relevant today.  Turn to your Bible to read this inspiring story of a godly man and his friends who put prayer and faith above all else.  Their prayers were heard and answered in great and mighty ways.  Yours will be too when you pray in line with the will of God.  To know the will of God, simply ask.

LET US SHIFT FROM TALKING POLITICS TO PRAYING PROVIDENCE.  The season of Divine and Sovereign providence is upon us.  This is the hour of God’s marvelous providence.  It is through His faithful prayer warriors that He will move today, just as he did in the book of Daniel.

He Removes Kings and Raises Kings Up

“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.” Dan 2:20-22

The Divine Hour Upon Which We are Entering

As I sat with Lord this morning, I felt His heart to pray for the “Divine hour upon which we are entering”. We are entering into a critical time in history, a time where the Sovereign Providence of the Lord will manifest. Our free will is being over-ridden by God’s Sovereignty and His providence (His divine guidance or care over us). The Lion of Judah is stepping. His roar will be heard throughout the nations.

A Prayer of Healing

This morning as I was reading my Bible, I felt the Lord impress upon my heart His desire for healing. In Matthew 9:18-26 we see Jesus heal a little girl who was very sick and a woman who had been suffering from illness for 12 years. I want to pray specifically this morning for any women and girls who are sick and need restoration. I pray that the hand of God is upon you and that the healing you have so been longing for is here. The season of waiting is over. I pray the tender words of Jesus from Mark 5:41 “Talitha kum!”—which means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!” And to the women I pray Matt 9:22 “be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” May you be made well this hour in Jesus name. A season of healing is upon us.
