Joy and Simplicity in the Kitchen
This is my little corner of the world where I will post all things food and nutrition. I am a Registered Dietitian with a Master’s degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition. Food has been my passion as long as I can remember.
I have a confession... I love cookies. Chocolate chip cookies are my favorite, but I also love Christmas cookies. I wish I could have shared this cookie platter with you. It was a labor of love. I know... shouldn't a Dietitian be posting all the healthy foods we should be eating? I will do that too... but more importantly I believe is our relationship with food and the joy it can bring.
With all the nutrition information surrounding us today it can be easy to feel overwhelmed, but food doesn’t have to be complicated. A balanced and healthy diet doesn't always look like fruits and vegetables - sometimes it looks like love smothered in butter and dripping with chocolate. In moderation... foods that are good for our souls can also be good for our bodies. All foods can fit into a healthy diet (barring any allergies or medically specific diets). God has given us a variety of beautiful foods to enjoy, both for our health and for our pleasure.

It is my hope to simplify your thoughts on food and cultivate an environment of joy in your kitchen. The kitchen is the heart of our homes and should be a place where people gather for nourishment, both physical and spiritual.
All the recipes you find here will be made from scratch with whole foods. That doesn't mean they are more complicated, it simply means they are more nourishing.
Join me as we restore joy and simplicity into our kitchens.
