From Talking Politics to Praying Providence

Wow! Wow! Wow!  I just love when God confirms a word He spoke to me, and today He did just that.  As I opened my Bible Study (the Daniel Study by Beth Moore) and turned to week 2, day 4, my jaw hit the floor.  In big bold letters all over the page are definitions of the word “PROVIDENCE”.   If you missed this week’s posts, you may be wondering what I am so excited about.  Allow me to refresh your memory…

January 12, 2011:  As I sat with Lord this morning, I felt His heart to pray for the “Divine hour upon which we are entering”. We are entering into a critical time in history, a time where the Sovereign Providence of the Lord will manifest. Our free will is being over-ridden by God’s Sovereignty and His providence.  Providence as defined by Merriam-Webster is “His divine guidance or care over us”. The Lion of Judah is stepping in, and His roar will be heard throughout the nations. I feel this word is extremely timely as we prepare for the upcoming transfer of power in the United States. I hear Him saying to pray over these next days for His Sovereign Providence over the United States of America. May His Kingdom come, His will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. We must put our political agendas aside and put God’s agenda at the forefront. We do that through prayer for our Nation. It is a critical hour to be in prayer, this DIVINE HOUR UPON WHICH WE ARE ENTERING.  Thank you God for your Sovereign Providence over the United States of America. Thank you for your Fatherly love for our country. Thank you that we are the United States of America – one Nation Under God! May your Kingdom come and Your will be done! Yes and Amen!!

January 13, 2021:  “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.” Dan 2:20-22. Our God has never once failed to be at the center of raising up kings and removing kings. He is at the center today just as much as He was with Nebuchadnezzar in Daniels time. It was through His faithful prayer warriors that He moved then, and it is through His faithful prayer warriors that He will move today. Fear not the lion’s den or the fiery trials in life. Stand firm in your faith, not in what is popular or accepted. Be a Daniel in a sea of Babylonians. God is with us and He will make Himself known!

Beth Moore, Daniel 2006

Providence is not a word I regularly use. Perhaps at one point in history it was common, but today… it just isn’t.  So when a word such as “providence” starts turning up around every corner, I start to pay attention.  God started speaking to me about providence around a year ago.  Since that time, it has gotten LOUDER, AND LOUDER, AND LOUDER.  Yes God… I am listening.

A couple days ago, I wrote about His Sovereign providence and went as far as to define it.  Today in my study with Beth Moore, she further defines it for us. Listen to what she has to say…

“God’s sovereignty means that He has supremacy over all things and does whatever He desires with whomever or whatever He pleases. The providence of God is similar in concept. Harper’s Bible Dictionary explains, ‘This God has a plan and purpose for his world. Providence is not a principle of orderliness or reason; rather, providence is the will of the Creator who is actively involved in moving his creation to a goal. History is not a cyclical process of endless repetition; history is being moved toward the predetermined end.”   (Beth Moore, Daniel)

Let’s again look at the scripture from Daniel 2:20-22.

“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.” (Dan 2:20-22)

I am blown away that today, January 14, 2021… Beth Moore is teaching me through a study she published in 2006, about a book written in around 600 BC, something SO relevant for this season we are in TODAY!  Come on folks!  Can I give a shout out to the Lord!

Today’s lesson with Beth gets better, stick with me… we are specifically looking at Daniel 2:21 “He removes kings and raises up kings”.  This scripture is for today y’all!  It is for right now in history as much as it was in 600 BC.   As Beth Moore mentions in her study today “God’s Word is eternal. Unaffected by time. Scripture was inspired to be as fresh each passing day at it was the first.”  God is breathing life all over this ancient verse.

To sum up Daniel 2:20-22… God’s got this.  Our God is wise and mighty.  It is He who changes the times and season.  It is He who removes kings and raises up kings. It is He who gives wisdom to the wise.   It is He who knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.

We have entered into a Divine hour of Sovereign providence.  The season has changed.  Our wise and mighty God is with us and for us.  He still gives wisdom to the wise (Dan 2:21).  Ask and it shall be given you.  Seek and ye shall find.  Knock and the door will be opened (Matt 7:7).  Allow Him to guide your prayers.  Pray for our world, our nation, your state, your city, your county, your street, your home…  Pray for wisdom on how to pray, how to respond, how to act.  God gives (wisdom) generously to those who ask (James 1:5).   Today… God is raising up Daniel’s in a sea of Babylonians.

He gives wisdom to the wise and [greater] knowledge to those who have understanding! (Dan 2:21, AMP)

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matt 7:7, NIV)

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:5, NIV)

Daniel 2 is relevant today.  Turn to your Bible to read this inspiring story of a godly man and his friends who put prayer and faith above all else.  Their prayers were heard and answered in great and mighty ways.  Yours will be too when you pray in line with the will of God.  To know the will of God, simply ask.

LET US SHIFT FROM TALKING POLITICS TO PRAYING PROVIDENCE.  The season of Divine and Sovereign providence is upon us.  This is the hour of God’s marvelous providence.  It is through His faithful prayer warriors that He will move today, just as he did in the book of Daniel.

He Removes Kings and Raises Kings Up

“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.” Dan 2:20-22

A Prayer of Healing

This morning as I was reading my Bible, I felt the Lord impress upon my heart His desire for healing. In Matthew 9:18-26 we see Jesus heal a little girl who was very sick and a woman who had been suffering from illness for 12 years. I want to pray specifically this morning for any women and girls who are sick and need restoration. I pray that the hand of God is upon you and that the healing you have so been longing for is here. The season of waiting is over. I pray the tender words of Jesus from Mark 5:41 “Talitha kum!”—which means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!” And to the women I pray Matt 9:22 “be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” May you be made well this hour in Jesus name. A season of healing is upon us.

“Rest in the Lord and Wait Patiently for Him” (Ps 37:7)

Waiting day 2…

“Rest in the Lord and Wait Patiently for Him” (Ps 37:7)

As I sat worshipping this morning and interceding for our Nation, God impressed upon my spirit His great sovereignty.  There is a great battle over the United States right now and God will arise victorious; He is the King of Victory.  Battles and being fought and won right now over territory that belongs to the Lord.  Stand firm in your faith!  Pray! God will show himself victorious.  I have heard it said we are in the midst of the “Roaring 20’s”.   The Lion of Judah is on the move and we will hear His roar.  He is territorial and this is His territory.  We will indeed hear the Lion’s roar and it will shake the earth!  Be courageous in your faith.  Decree the victory belongs to the Lord!  What I know, is that we will see the hand of the Lord show up in this new era in a way we have never seen it before.  When it is all said and done we will stand purified, mesmerized and in awe of Him.  We worship a mighty God y’all.  He holds a winning hand.

“Stop weeping! Look closely, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome and conquered! (Rev 5:5, AMP)

2020 election (November 4)

As we wait today for election results… I have a reminder.
God is sovereign, He has a plan, He loves us, and He knows the outcome. I pray we take a firm stance in trusting the King of Kings. Our faith is not in man or political affiliations. Our faith is in God. He is sovereign. No matter if you feel you “win” or “lose”, you can be confident that we worship a God who is victorious and in control at all times.
Every person must submit to and support the authorities over him. For there can be no authority in the universe except by God’s appointment, which means that every authority that exists has been instituted by God. (Romans 13:1, TPT)
It’s as easy for God to steer a king’s heart for his purposes as it is for him to direct the course of a stream (Because a leader’s decisions affect so many people, God will intervene and steer them as a farmer steers the course of a stream to irrigate his fields.). (Prov 21:1, TPT)

Preparedness in CHRIST or Preparedness in CRISIS

Awhile back I saw a cartoon of a toilet paper bunker with two eyes peering out, indicating that someone was hiding inside.  It made me laugh so hard. This was during the mad rush on toilet paper in the early stages of COVID hitting the scenes. I felt that image being called to mind again and again as I faced each day of this COVID crisis. Back in March, most of us felt the urge to stock up, particularly on the items that seemed to be the ones everyone else was stocking up on. Did you find yourself wondering why you needed 50 rolls of toilet paper and 10 bags of dried beans? I did. But yet somehow the empty shelves made me think… maybe I should have bought more. So many of us looked to the other sheep to see how to respond, when really we simply needed a Shepherd to lead us. The result of following the herd is fear, panic, and well – empty shelves. The Bible tells us that we are God’s sheep (Psalm 100) and He is our Shepherd (Ps 23). Sheep need a shepherd or else they blindly follow the other sheep. Toilet paper anyone?
The urgency we feel to store up is accurate, it is simply the avenue that is not. Yes – we do need to stockpile! We have just misinterpreted the invitation ringing in our spirits.
In Matthew 6:25-33 we are called to not worry about a thing. “Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the harvest] nor gather [the crops] into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they?” We also read in Matthew 6:19-20 “don’t keep hoarding for yourselves earthly treasures, but instead stockpile heavenly treasures”. So what are the heavenly treasures we are being invited to store up on?
I believe we find the answer in Matthew 25:1-13. This scripture is about the ten maidens waiting for the bridegroom to arrive. Five of the women had oil in their lamps and the other five did not. The bridegroom in this story represents Jesus and the oil represents the Holy Spirit. I am feeling that this is a critical season to stockpile on oil for our lamps. The good news is that there is an unlimited supply of oil! Let us follow our Shepherd during this time, not the other sheep. He will guide us, and he will fill us to overflowing – which is what we are all sensing an urgency for to begin with. Let us turn our invitation to stockpile into a stockpiling of the Holy Spirit within us. Let us fill our lamps so we are ready for an encounter with Jesus. Let us prepare our hearts and be filled to overflowing, so we are prepared for the season that is upon us.
“Behold, your King is coming to you” (Zech 9:9)
